Role
As an IT and Network Executive, you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing the organization’s information technology and network infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the stability, security, and efficient operation of the company’s IT systems and networks. You will collaborate with various teams to implement and maintain technology solutions that align with the company’s goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Network Management: Design, configure and maintain the organization’s local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) infrastructure. Monitor network performance, security and availability to ensure optimal operation. Implement network upgrades and enhancements as needed to meet the organization’s growing needs. Troubleshoot network-related issues, identify root causes and implement corrective actions. Maintain network documentation, including network topology, IP addressing and network equipment inventory.
- Systems Administration: Manage the organization’s servers, including installation, configuration and maintenance. Monitor server performance and security, ensuring timely updates and patches. Support user access management, including account provisioning, permissions, and password management. Implement backup and disaster recovery solutions to safeguard critical data. Maintain documentation of server configurations, procedures and troubleshooting guides.
- End-User Support: Provide technical support to end-users, addressing hardware and software issues promptly. Install and configure workstations, laptops and peripherals. Assist with software installation, updates and license management. Conduct user training and create documentation for common technical procedures. Ensure a high level of customer service and user satisfaction.
- IT Security: Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures to protect the organization’s data and systems. Monitor security vulnerabilities, conduct regular security assessments and apply appropriate safeguards. Maintain antivirus, firewall and intrusion detection systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Proven experience in IT and network administration, with a minimum of one year in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, security protocols and network hardware.
- Proficiency in server administration, virtualization and cloud technologies.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity practices and tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Project management experience and familiarity with project management methodologies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Nice to Have (but not mandatory)
- Certifications in relevant IT domains (e.g., CCNA, CISSP, ITIL).
- Having additional cybersecurity certifications like Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) can set you apart.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) can be advantageous, especially if the company is considering or already using cloud services for IT infrastructure.
